TREES
So everyday a sight, we forget how mysterious a tree is. What form does it take down below in the realm we cannot see, and how does it interact with other trees above and below? A seed lands where it may, and from then on a tree—like an oyster—has cast its lot in life on that spot. We, able to move at whim and will, can hardly imagine the being of a tree, which must stand tall to the vicissitudes of change. We can cut them down, but they rarely cut us down. Trees seem silent, but we may just lack knowledge of the wavelength, the chemistry, they use to speak.
